Cambridge, Md. – August 29, 2006 – The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory invites the public to take part in its annual Open House from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2006. The theme for this year’s open house is “Explore Your Bay and Oceans.” With more than 40 activities planned, visitors can:

“Our faculty and students have put together a variety of great hands-on activities and interesting demonstrations for the entire family,” said Horn Point Laboratory Director Michael Roman. “We are excited to showcase Horn Point’s ongoing work to improve our understanding of our bays and oceans.” All Open House activities sponsored by the lab are free and open to the public. Children will receive free t-shirts. The Horn Point Laboratory is located at 2020 Horns Point Road.
