Your gift will help the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science foster a more healthy and prosperous environment through scientific research, teaching, and advocacy.
Your contribution will help us to
- Rehabilitate the Chesapeake Bay, foster abundant blue crab, oyster, and rockfish populations, and improve water quality.
- Nurture a new generation of scientists and environmental leaders through graduate fellowships at our four research laboratories.
- Address the impact of climate change on our coastal communities by modeling storm surges, fostering low-carbon energy sources, and advising public leaders on the impact of their policies on the environment.
- Identify marine organisms and plants that can be used for new medicines and other productive uses.
You can make a huge difference in shaping our future. Laboratory-specific support will advance our work in your community and support specific research priorities at the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory.
Donations could also help support Dr. Helen Bailey and her team at Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, who have been frequently detecting dolphin calls in Chesapeake Bay. They are now working to develop an observation network that will provide information on dolphin distribution and encourage local residents to report their sightings and learn more about these animals. To help, click on the DONATE button, select “Other” when asked where to direct your gift and specify DolphinWatch.
