Life History & Population Ecology

Striped bassThe fish and shellfish populating the Chesapeake Bay have diverse patterns of migration and habitat use. These patterns vary with weather, abundance, and changes to the ecosystem. By examining the ecology of fishery resources from a spatial perspective, CBL researchers are shedding light on important management practices, such as the effectiveness of protected marine areas, the influence of regional fisheries on migratory species, and the resiliency of populations to ecosystem-level changes.
