Science happens here

Graduate student Amanda Lawrence shows young visitors how to pipette at IMET's inaugural Open House in 2017.

The Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology is inviting the public to its second annual Science Open House. This free event is open to all ages and will take place under the tent at the Columbus Center, located at 701 E. Pratt St. in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Guests can get a behind-the-scenes tour of our Aquaculture Research Center, see "Nature's Nightlight" - microscopic organisms that glow in the dark, learn to use a pipette, and meet and talk with real scientists. Enjoy refreshments and enter a free raffle for tickets to the National Aquarium.

The Open House runs 1 to 4 p.m. Walk in any time. We hope to see you there!
