UMCES Presidents Testifies About Global Warming and the Chesapeake Bay

WASHNGTON, D.C. (September 26, 2007)

UMCES President Donald Boesch today testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works about the impact of global warming on the Chesapeake Bay. Dr. Boesch appeared before the committee with several regional leaders including U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski, Congressman Wayne Gilchrest, Governor Martin O'Malley and Governor Timothy Kaine. Dr. Boesch's testimony highlighted threats to the Bay region including rising sea levels, warming water temperatures, eroding marshes and possible impacts on the multi-billion dollar Bay restoration effort.
