The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) invites applications for tenure track faculty positions in Coastal/Estuarine Physical Oceanography at the Horn Point Laboratory (HPL). The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, to be committed to graduate education, and to reach across disciplinary boundaries. UMCES conducts research on a wide range of environmental science topics from its four laboratories across the state and participates in graduate education through the University of Maryland Marine, Estuarine and Environmental Science Program.
The position requires a Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience. Preference will be given to candidates at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptional candidates at higher levels will be considered. We strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in physical oceanography.
Candidates should send electronic copies of their letter of application, curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests, and the names and addresses of three referees to firstname.lastname@example.org. More information about HPL and UMCES can be found at: http://www.umces.edu/hpl. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2016.
UMCES is an EEO/AA employer. Individuals with disabilities, veterans, women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
