Faculty Research Assistant in Computer Programming and Numerical Modeling

University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES), Horn Point Laboratory, seeks an individual to contribute to a research program on oil transport and particle tracking modeling. Primary Duties: computer programming, setting up and running numerical model simulations, and visualizing numerical model results. Secondary duties: data management and web design. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Expertise in the following areas is preferred: familiarity with Linux and Windows, knowledge of FORTRAN and C++, and experience with parallelizing models.
