UMCES mourns the loss of Dan Harman

UMCES mourns the loss of retired professor and forest entomologist Dan Harman. He was known for his work on the locust borer, a serious pest on eastern black locust timber tree, and his collaboration with colleagues in fisheries and wildlife at UMCES’ Appalachian Laboratory in Frostburg, Maryland.

Ming Li and Matthew Gray named 2024-2025 U.S. Fulbright Scholars

Both professors will begin their collaborative research programs abroad – Li at the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere in Portugal, and Gray at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden – later this fall.

Kids Summer Adventures at Horn Point Lab: July/August 2024

It takes place at UMCES' Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, MD. With the backdrop of the Horn Point Laboratory and its 800+ acres on the banks of the Choptank River, Toadfish Adventures engages students’ sense of wonder!
