CBS 60 Minutes Abandon New Orleans Controversy

On November 20, 2005, the CBS-TV's popular Sixty Minutes featured a story entitled "New Orleans is Sinking" in which geologist Timothy Kusky appeared painting a dire scenario for New Orleans at the end of this century as an 18-foot deep "fish bowl" surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and protected by 50-100 foot levees. He urged the abandonment of the city starting now. This has generated a controversy regarding the science behind Dr. Kusky's assertions.
