About the Vessel

The new research vessel will play a key role in expanding our scientific understanding of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The vessel is specifically tailored to meet the specific needs Chesapeake researchers. Its shallow draft provides scientists access to the broad flats commonly found throughout the region, while its twin engines allow her to quickly transit the Bay's 185-mile course.
