Faculty Research Assistant - 6 month contractual

The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES), Chesapeake Biological Laboratory (CBL), is accepting applications for a Faculty Research Assistant to assist with studying the response of black sea bass to natural and anthropogenic sounds as a model species within a large aquarium tank.  Duties will include preparation and set-up of equipment within a large tank, assisting with data collection, adn report writing.  Applicants should have good writing skills, willing to work at a research aquarium and work with a range of video and acoustic equipment.  Experience with fish husbandry and acoustic telemetry systems is also desirable.  For more details about the position, please contact Dr. David Secor (secor@umces.edu).  Minimum requirement is a B.S. degree with more than 2 years research experience, must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check.  This position is for 6 months dependent upon funding and includes funding for subsidized health coverage through the State of MD.  To apply for this position you should submit a cover letter, CV, and names and contact information of three references (including email and phone) to be received by September 17, 2018 to CBL-HR@umces.edu with FRA-HB in the subject line.
