Bio

I am excited to be working for IAN and UMCES as a Science Communication Intern. In my role, I expect to be editing and creating a variety of videos, contributing to the IAN video and photo library, and welcoming any new tasks and learning opportunities that come my way. I have been very involved with both written and visual science communication for more than five years. This includes producing a short educational nature documentary about biodiversity, developing StoryMaps for the National Park Service and a local watershed council, as well as administering environmental education programs for K-12 students. My background includes a strong foundation in science from a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology and Fisheries from Ball State University, and a Master of Science in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University. I am looking forward to combining my passion for photography, videography, and science with my desire to communicate in an effective way. I am based out of southern Oregon where I enjoy trail running, snorkeling, kayaking, and spending time with my five chickens.
