 \n \n\n \nPresented by Dr. Ryan Woodland\n\n\n\nAs natural
and human pressures in the Chesapeake Bay region evolve\, understanding h
ow these conditions affect the Bay’s ecosystems is critical for proper man
agement of this unique estuary. In 2018\, CBL developed the Patuxent River
Research Cruise Program (PAX) to build our scientific knowledge of the Pa
tuxent River ecosystem while helping to train the next generation of coast
al scientists. This seminar will highlight the history of estuarine resear
ch and education on the Patuxent\, describe how PAX builds on this legacy\
, and present preliminary findings generated since the start of the progra
m.\n\n\n\nCost: Free\nWhere: ZOOM Webinar - you will receive a participant
  link after registering\nPre-registration required: http://www.usmf.org/sc
ienceforcitizens/\nWho: Members of the general public. No scientific backg
round needed\; everyone is welcome!\nWhy: Learn something new and interest
ing while celebrating science on scenic Solomons Island\n\n\n\nPlease note
that this seminar will be hosted as Zoom Webinars only. Out of an abundan
ce of caution related to the COVID-19 coronavirus\, there will be no in-pe
rson attendance opportunity.\n\n\n\nThis seminar is presented as a part of
the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory’s Science for Citizens Seminar Serie
s and Virtual Science Semester.  These public programs invite the communit
y to discover how our scientists are developing new approaches to solving
the environmental challenges facing Southern Maryland\, our nation\, and t
he world.\n\n\n	View the complete Science for Citizens Seminar schedule.\n	L
