  is an insect genomics expert. After early work helping sequence the fruit
  fly genome\, he was faculty at Baylor College of Medicine's Human Genome 
 Sequencing Center leading the flour beetle\, honeybee\, pea aphid\, and ot
 her insect genome projects. As a member of the i5K arthropod sequencing co
 mmunity\, he sequenced over 50 scientifically and agriculturally important
  species. Recently he joined UC Davis and the Earth BioGenome Project\, an
  audacious project to generate genome sequences for all known eukaryotic s
