\n\n\n Topic: Dynamic Ocean Management: Using Technolo
gy to Capture the Complexities of Spatial Ecology for Marine Conservation
 and Management\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\nAbstract: Fish mov
e\; the ocean moves\; and yet many of our marine conservation strategies a
nd regulatory efforts are static in time and space. Often we are limited s
imply in our ability to understand the occurrence and distribution of spec
ies of concern because marine species are notoriously hard to observe acro
ss large areas and for extended periods of time. Leveraging advances in ta
gging technology and ocean remote sensing\, we can better incorporate dyna
mic species distribution models into our management and regulatory efforts
. My research focuses on capturing the occurrence and distributions of spe
cies of concern to support Dynamic Ocean Management efforts from the coast
al Mid-Atlantic\, to the Eastern Tropical Pacific. My goal is to create to
ols that allow managers and conservationists to better understand the over
lapping conflicts between human activities and the marine species that occ
upy the ocean. \n\n\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting https://zoom.us/j/96105792609?pwd
