 g Our Streams and the Chesapeake Bay?\n \n\n \n

\nPresented by Dr. Solange Filoso\n\n\n\nHealthy streams are
dynamic\, diverse ecosystems that provide society with many benefits.  Si
nce many streams in the Chesapeake Bay watershed are severely degraded\, s
tream restoration is increasingly used to improve their water quality.  Ye
t\, the effectiveness of projects implemented is still questionable\, and
recovery is a slow\, complex task. Dr. Solange Filoso has monitored restor
ed streams in Maryland for over a decade. In this seminar\, she will share
her assessment of restoration effectiveness\, and discuss the importance
of monitoring data to policy and management decisions in the region.\n\n\n
\nCost: Free\nWhere: ZOOM Webinar - you will receive a participant link af
 ter registering\nPre-registration required: http://www.usmf.org/sciencefor
citizens/\nWho: Members of the general public. No scientific background ne
eded\; everyone is welcome!\n\n\n\nPlease note that this seminar will be h
osted as Zoom Webinars only. Out of an abundance of caution related to the
COVID-19 coronavirus\, there will be no in-person attendance opportunity.
\n\n\n\nThis seminar is presented as a part of the Chesapeake Biological L
aboratory’s Science for Citizens Seminar Series.  These public programs in
vite the community to discover how our scientists are developing new appro
aches to solving the environmental challenges facing Southern Maryland\, o
ur nation\, and the world.\n\n\n	View the complete Science for Citizens Sem
