  for Environmental Science will join the Saturday\, Oct. 28 panel discussi
 ons at the Chesapeake Film Festival\, which runs Oct. 27-29. UMCES is also
  one of the event sponsors.\n\n\n\nDon Boesch\, professor and university p
 resident from 1990-2017\, joins Benjamin H. Grumbles\, Maryland State Secr
 etary of the Environment for the first panel. Following a 12:15 p.m. scree
 ning of the film 'Before the Flood\,' this panel will look at how climate 
 change affects our environment and what society can do to prevent the demi
 se of endangered species\, ecosystems and native communities globally. Stu
 art Clarke\, executive director of Town Creek Foundation\, will moderate. 
 This panel begins at 1:45 p.m.\n\n\n\n\n    Bill Boicourt\, professor emer
 itus\, joins Tom Horton\, writer\, High Tide In Dorchester\; David Harp\, 
 director\, High Tide in Dorchester\; Jess Jacklin\, director\, Waterman\; 
 and Laura Seltzer-Duny\, director\, The Last Boat Out\, for a 5:30 p.m. pa
 nel discussion. This panel will focus on a package of short environmental 
 films. Brian Ambrette\, coastal resilience manager for Eastern Shore Land 
 Conservancy\, will moderate.\n\n\n\nBoth panels will take place at The Ava
