 Adam Benfield will present 'Ice Age Relics or an Interglacial Success Stor
 y? Late Quaternary paleoecology of the mountain conifers of California\, I
 ndonesia\, and Appalachia' as part of the Appalachian Laboratory's Visitin
 g Scholar Seminar Series. \n\n\n \n\n\nAdam Benfield is a Ph.D. candidate 
 in Quaternary Paleoecology in the Dept. of Geosciences at Penn State\, def
 ending this summer. He is a broadly trained (paleo)ecologist\, palynologis
 t\, and environmental Geoscientist specializing in montane and wetland eco
 systems of the USA\, Colombia\, and southeast Asia from the Late Quaternar
 y to the present day. His research centers around how plants\, fire regime
 s\, and animal populations changed across glacial-interglacial cycles\, th
 e most recent and largest magnitude climate change events prior to the Ant
 hropogenic period.\n\n\n \n\n\nPlease note that seminars in the Visiting S
 cholars Series are open to the public but are intended for scientific audi
