 over a decade\, Dr. Lora Harris and her team have monitored vegetation\, s
 horeline elevation and the unique properties of the Cove Point Marsh follo
 wing dredge spoil placement and marsh creation in 2011. These natural and 
 nature-based features (NNBFs) were combined with revetment and groin struc
 ture. Join us to hear the story of Cove Point Marsh and NNBFs are being ap
 plied nationwide to support coastal resilience.\n\n\n\nJoin us at the olde
 st state-supported marine lab on the East Coast to learn about innovative 
 research being pioneered by CBL scientists. Our faculty and graduate stude
 nts are developing new approaches to solving the environmental management 
 problems facing Southern Maryland\, our nation\, and our world. Each talk 
 will be presented by an UMCES scientist and will inform the public about a
  featured research effort.\n\n\n\nTuesday from 7-8 p.m.\n\n\n\nOctober 8\,
