\n\n\nThe ASPiRE Virtual Discussion Series is a good place for anyone in
terested in learning more about community science\, engaged research\, and
equitable exchange. If you are new to these topics\, you’ll leave with a
theoretical foundation and concrete steps to get started. If you already h
ave experience\, you can explore theories that will help you improve your
 work\, explain it to others\, and make a stronger case.\n\n\n\nThe seven-p
art 90-minutes series is designed for geoscientists who want to explore th
e theories\, principles\, and practices that provide the foundations for e
quitable research with community partners. Topics include an introduction
to community engaged research in geosciences\, centering community\, build
ing and maintaining relationships\, learning from histories of scientific
engagement with communities\, navigating internal and external power and p
olitics\, data sharing and data sovereignty\, and translating all this int
 o practice.\n\n\n\nBefore each virtual discussion session\, we’ll share re
adings and other materials you can use to get familiar with the topic. Dur
ing the discussion session\, you’ll get presentations from community leade
 rs\, participate in small-group discussions\, plan how you’ll incorporate
what you learn into your practice\, and get feedback from community adviso
 rs.\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n
          \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n \n \n\n \n\n
\n\n\nBecause topics in the virtual discussion series build o
n previous topics and because it is meant to be a space for courageous exp
loration with supportive peers\, we ask people to participate in all the s
essions\, if possible. Click on each of the links below to register for th
 e Virtual Discussion Series.\n\n\n\n2025 Agenda\n\n\n	Tuesday\, February 18
