\n\nThe ASPiRE Virtual Discussion Series is a good place for anyone intere
sted in learning more about community science\, engaged research\, and equ
itable exchange. If you are new to these topics\, you’ll leave with a theo
retical foundation and concrete steps to get started. If you already have
experience\, you can explore theories that will help you improve your work
 \, explain it to others\, and make a stronger case.\n\n\n\nThe seven-part
90-minutes series is designed for geoscientists who want to explore the th
eories\, principles\, and practices that provide the foundations for equit
able research with community partners. Topics include an introduction to c
ommunity engaged research in geosciences\, centering community\, building
and maintaining relationships\, learning from histories of scientific enga
gement with communities\, navigating internal and external power and polit
ics\, data sharing and data sovereignty\, and translating all this into pr
actice.\n\n\n\nBefore each virtual discussion session\, we’ll share readin
gs and other materials you can use to get familiar with the topic. During
the discussion session\, you’ll get presentations from community leaders\,
participate in small-group discussions\, plan how you’ll incorporate what
you learn into your practice\, and get feedback from community advisors..
\n\n\n\nBecause topics in the virtual discussion series build on previous
topics and because it is meant to be a space for courageous exploration wi
th supportive peers\, we ask people to participate in all the sessions\, i
f possible. Click on each of the links below to register for the Virtual D
