 \n \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n Target Audience\n
          \n \n\n \n\n \n\n\nThis webinar is directed at p
 ractitioners\, policy and decision makers\, scientists\, researchers\, aca
demics and other professionals interested in modeling and decision-support
  tools in the water\, energy\, food\, climate and environmental/ecosystems
  areas.\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n
              \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n Backg
 round\n \n \n\n \n\n \n\n\nThis webinar is part
of a project sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) entit
led Innovation and Science for the Operationalization of the Water-Energy-
Food Nexus within the Framework of the Amazon Regional Observatory. This p
roject is focused on the development and application of modelling tools in
an integrated multi-sectoral planning process based on the water-energy-f
ood nexus approach.\n\n\n\nThis project is under the scope of the IDB's Am
azonia Forever regional coordination program\, which aims to scale sustain
able and inclusive development in the Amazonia region. \n\n\n\nThe objecti
ve of this project is to operationalize an integrated water-energy-food ne
xus modeling tool(s) that allows the exploration of different physical and
socioeconomic scenarios in the entire Amazon basin. This project leverage
s the experience acquired and efforts made by the Bank and client countrie
s in areas such as water\, agriculture and land use\, energy and climate c
hange.\n\n\n\nThe knowledge and tools developed through this project will
support an integrated\, multi-sectoral (nexus) approach to policy developm
ent and investment in the Amazon Basin. This will promote coherent\, colla
borative environmental governance to understand tradeoffs and maximize syn
ergies and co-benefits while minimizing vulnerabilities\, risks\, and unin
tended consequences. This capacity is needed to address priority regional
transboundary problems in the Amazon Basin such as the lack of integrated
water resources management\, water pollution\, biodiversity loss\, effects
of extreme hydroclimatic events\, and land use change\, among other issue
 s. \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n
          \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n Objective
 s of the Webinar \n \n \n\n \n\n \n\n\nThis webi
nar will illustrate and provide hands-on the operationalization of the wat
er-energy-food nexus model developed for the Amazon River Basin through in
teractive visualization dashboards. The main objective of this webinar is
to collect input from participants to improve these operational dashboards
 .\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n
        \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n Expected Ou
 tcomes\n \n \n\n \n\n \n\n\nThe expectation is t
hat\, by the end of the webinar\, participants will have strengthened thei
r skills and abilities\, especially in:\n\n\n	Understand the scope of the W
ater-Energy-Food Nexus modeling activities in the basin\, specifically the
implementation of the HydroBID-WHATIF ((nexus) model.\n	Provide input to t
he process of improvement of the operational visualization dashboards of t
he nexus model.\n	Promote the participation in the discussions and analyses
that will be carried out in the tasks included in the Project's Work Plan
.\n	Gain experience in the use of the operationalized nexus model through a
participatory and inclusive process of discussion and analysis.\n\n\n
   \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n
 \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n Registration\, Meeti
 ng Link\, Language and Certification\n \n \n\n \n\n
\n\n\nThe webinar will have simultaneous translation into English\, Po
rtuguese and Spanish.\n\n\n\nUMCES will issue certificates of participatio
 n to registered participants.\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n
      \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n
 \n\n Webinar Agenda\n \n \n\n \n\n
\n\n\nThe Technical Webinar will have a duration of 120 minutes\, with the
following sessions:\n\n\n\nWebinar Opening and Introduction of Presenters
(10 min)\n\n\n\n●    Workshop Opening (IADB)\n●    Introduction of Nexus
 Team Specialists\n\n\n\nNexus Readiness Exercise (Interactive) (5 min)\n\n
\n\nNexus Model Operationalization Results and Discussion (45 min)\n\n\n\n
 ●    Introduction to the Nexus project background and objectives\n●    Nex
us model operationalization approach: introduction\, basic principles\, ap
plication(s) and limitations - considerations for its implementation in th
e Amazon River Basin\n●    Nexus model operationalization results: dashboa
rd design\, software needed\, navigation\, analysis and interpretation of
model results.\n\n\n\nHands-on exercises using the Nexus Model Dashboards
(30 min)\n\n\n\nThis will be a hands-on session on the use and visualizati
on of results of the operationalized version of the Nexus modeling dashboa
rds. This session will include the use of the dashboard to generate the re
sults of nexus physical and intervention scenarios. \n\n\n\nModerated disc
ussion on the use of the operationalized Nexus model (20 min)\n\n\n\nBased
on the experienced obtained using the operationalized Nexus modeling dash
boards\, participants will be encouraged to share their feedback\, vision
of other challenges and opportunities of the Nexus approach and modeling t
ools for the Amazon River Basin. This discussion will be live using prompt
ed questions in interactive format\, plus oral discussions.\n\n\n\nClosure
Discussion on the Project’s Work Plan and Next Steps (10 min)\n\n\n\nThis
session will consist of a presentation of the next stages involved in the
Nexus project and a preview of the next webinars in this series.
