\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented by Dr. Jeremy Testa\nIn the summer of 2017\, Bay
grasses appeared in front of CBL on Solomons Island for the first time in
over four decades. Often considered a ‘canary in a coal mine’\, Bay grass

heir appearance off Solomons reflects a recent improvement in Chesapeake B
ay water quality. Dr. Jeremy Testa will tell the story of Bay grasses in t
he Patuxent\, and will describe how it plays into a wider picture of chang
e in Chesapeake Bay over the past several decades.\n\n\n\nWhere: CBL’s Ber

first-come\, first-served basis.\nWho: Members of the general public. No
scientific background needed\; everyone is welcome!\nWhy: Learn something
new and interesting while celebrating science on scenic Solomons Island\n
\n\n\nThis seminar is presented as a part of the Chesapeake Biological Lab
oraotyr's Science for Citizens Seminar Series.  These public seminars invi
te the community to discover how our scientists are developing new approac
hes to solving the environmental challenges facing Southern Maryland\, our
nation\, and the world. View the complete Spring 2018 Science for Citizen
 s Seminar schedule.
