 and impacts\n \n \n\n \n\n \n\n\nAbstract: Ocean
mesoscale eddies and fronts are ubiquitous features of the global ocean.
The eddy formation and frontal instability near the western boundary curre
nt systems and southern ocean have been found to profoundly modify the air
-sea interaction\, water transformation and biogeochemical processes. In c
ontrast\, the front in the Subpolar North Atlantic\, i.e. the subarctic fr
ont\, has been less studied. This talk will present the high-resolution me
asurements collected by autonomous underwater gliders in the Iceland Basin
and identify the observed eddy and frontal characteristics. Impacts of ed
dy-driven physical motions on the biogeochemical processes will also be di
 scussed.
