  where cheaper or less desirable seafood is substituted for the one you bo
 ught\, has been uncovered locally and globally. This talk\, by Oceana Seni
 or Scientist Kimberly Warner and Chesapeake Biological Laboratory alumna (
 Ph.D. 1999) will define seafood fraud and mislabeling\, how it happens\, t
 he scope of the problem and the consequences. She will also highlight how 
 citizen science “seafood sleuths” contributed to Oceana’s seafood fraud st
 udies and new policies to help address the problem.\n\n\n\nThis is a free 
 public seminar\; seating is available on a first-come\, first-served basis
 .\n\n\n\nThis seminar is presented as a part of the Science for Citizens s
 eminar series. All of our speakers this fall are alumni of the University 
 of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Chesapeake Biological Labor
