 l in protecting sea turtle species from extinction\, global collaboration 
 and conservation measures implemented by many nations is necessary. This p
 resentation will discuss the many threats facing sea turtles and how these
  threats are being addressed by government agencies\, scientists\, NGOs\, 
 and civil society. Veronica Caceres Chamorro\, Executive Secretary of the 
 Inter-American Convention for the Protection and Conservation of Sea Turtl
 es and Chesapeake Biological Laboratory alumna (M.S. 2001) will also highl
 ight how the IAC is coordinating the international collaboration needed to
  protect sea turtles.\n\n\n\nThis is a free public seminar\; seating is av
 ailable on a first-come\, first-served basis.\n\n\n\nThis seminar is prese
 nted as a part of the Science for Citizens seminar series. All of our spea
 kers this fall are alumni of the University of Maryland Center for Environ
