e Aquaculture and the Future of Feeding the World\n\n\n\nPublic Lecture wi
th UMBC-IMET Professor Dr. Yonathan Zohar\n\n\n\nWith 200\,000 people adde
d to our planet every day and an ever-growing increase in people’s appetit
e for seafood\, we are very rapidly depleting our oceans and the Chesapeak
e Bay. Responding to this challenge\, aquaculture has become the fastest g
rowing agricultural industry in the U.S. and the world. However\, it often
employs practices that result in adverse environmental consequences. This
lecture will describe a new generation of aquaculture technologies develo
ped by IMET scientists to efficiently and sustainably produce quality seaf
ood while reducing our dependence on wild fishery stocks.\n\n\n\nYou can r
egister and receive updates on Eventbrite and Facebook.
