Graduate Research Assistant
Horn Point Laboratory
I am from the small town of Crisfield, MD on the Eastern Shore. I grew up around my family’s seafood business, and gained hands-on experience with oysters. In 2017, I graduated from Salisbury University with my Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies, which influenced my interests involving oyster aquaculture and restoration.
My research focuses on developing a combination of new sediment removal through harrowing, which suspends sediment in the water column, in addition to traditional shell substrate techniques to restore oyster beds in Chesapeake Bay.
