Fringe Benefit Rate for Terminal Leave Pool as of July 1, 2019 - Estimates used in proposal budgets for employee fringe benefits include 2.39% of salary for all budgeted faculty salaries. This applies to all faculty ranks, include faculty research assistants. This is in addition to estimated fringe benefit rate for fringe benefits specifically identified with an employee and charged as direct cost (FICA, Retirement, Tuition Remission for Employees, TIAA/CREF, Unemployment Insurance and Health Insurance).

Fringe Benefits: UMCES does not have a fringe benefit rate agreement – actual costs are charged.  Fringe benefits expressed as a rate should always indicate that they are estimated rates – generally 35% for regular employees, 8% for hourly.
