Sarah completed her B.S in Marine Environmental Science at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in December of 2018 where she graduated with honors through the Richard A. Hensen Honor's Program. In August of 2019, Sarah began pursuing here master's degree. She is studying the overwinter behavior of the blue crab, Calinectes sapidus, in the Chesapeake Bay with the help of her mentor, Dr. Thomas Miller. Sarah is working to understand the impacts of the placement of dredge material on overwintering blue crabs. She will focus on estimating the abundance of blue crab during winter months using geostatistical approaches and quantifing the impacts of the placement of sediment on overwintering females experimentally in mesocosm experiments.
