For the only seventh time in its 100-year history, Maryland’s university for the environment has a bestowed the Reginald V. Truitt Environmental Award on a noted Marylanders whose dedication and achievements have resulted in the better understanding and stewardship of the environment.
Estuaries are critical natural environments to many marine species, so ensuring these ‘nurseries’ thrive is essential to environmental health and many local economies. Due to ongoing climate change, estuary temperatures are warming, which could negatively impact these habitats.
