Dr. Harman was known for his work on the locust borer, a serious pest on eastern black locust timber tree, and his collaboration with colleagues in fisheries and wildlife at UMCES’ Appalachian Laboratory in Frostburg, Maryland.
The Appalachian Laboratory is currently seeking nominations of outstanding individuals, organizations, or projects for its 2024 Richard A. Johnson Environmental Education Award. Deadline for submission is 5:00 pm on Friday, April 5.
