The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science held its annual Commencement May 19, featuring the conferral of master's and doctorate degrees, university awards, and keynote speaker Dr. Kandis Boyd, Senior Advisor at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Mary Ann Manley honored with the UMCES Staff Excellence Award

For 36 years, Mary Ann Manley provided exemplary service to the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science and Horn Point Laboratory community through her work as a Program Management Specialist in the Horn Point business office. She was a leader in demonstrating teamwork among her colleagues and her exemplary performance consistently demonstrated a high level of commitment to UMCES.

Kids Summer Adventures at Horn Point Lab: August 2023

Toadfish Adventures is a co-ed, environmental education, STEM-focused experience with 3 sessions for rising 1st graders thru 15 years old. It takes place on the campus of the Horn Point Laboratory (HPL) - University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) in Cambridge, MD. With the backdrop of the Horn Point Laboratory and its 800+ acres on the banks of the Choptank River, Toadfish Adventures engages students’ “sense of wonder.”
