The Society for Women in Marine Science's (SWMS) Horn Point Laboratory chapter invites high schoolers to spend a day exploring the life of a scientist!
The workshop will take place Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4:00 pm. SWMS members will introduce students to the wide, wonderful opportunities in the sciences through both indoor and outdoor activities where students can get to learn about tools scientists use to make discoveries and solve mysteries. The event will include nature walks, drones, microscopes, and many more exciting activities.
Through this event, SWMS hopes to created a space for high schoolers that belong to marginalized genders including women, women-identifying individuals, and non-binary and gender non-conforming people interested in exploring the work women in science do.
The event will take place at the Environmental Education Center at the Horn Point Laboratory. Lunch will be provided. Free to all; registration is limited and required.
