Support Science on #GivingTuesday!

Thank you for choosing to make Horn Point Laboratory a part of your GivingTuesday plans!

As you most likely know, GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world on December 3, 2019 and every day. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

When you support the Horn Point Laboratory, every dollar you contribute strengthens our ability to provide quality research that not only addresses local issues here on the Chesapeake Bay, but global ones as well

For instance, Graduate student Christine Knauss is producing valuable research necessary to deal with the effects of ocean pollution, or more specifically, microplastics in our water.

Science inspires everyone on this campus, every day. It’s the key to solving many of our problems – and opens doors to a future that will, in some ways, eventually look unimaginable. Much of how that future will look depends on how much we understand and respect our natural world.

And science is the language we use to communicate with the natural world.

Supporting science and education is essential to the challenges we face as a nation, a region, as communities, and as individuals.

THANK YOU for supporting science on GivingTuesday 2019!
