2021 Open House Cancelled
Due to continuing concerns related to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory will not be able to host our Open House in 2021.
This difficult decision was made in order to mitigate the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant, and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science community.
We look forward to being able to safely gather together to celebrate science on Solomons Island in the future.
You can still engage with the Chesapeake Biological Lab this year by:
- Participating in the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory's Science for Communities Webinar Series
- Signing-up to receive emails about upcoming Chesapeake Biological Laboratory events and exciting news
- Viewing live-quality videos of past Science for Communities seminars
- Learning about our Wave of Plastic curricular unit for middle school students
- Exploring the Virtual Science Semester resources, including behind-the-scenes videos and interviews
