Theresa Davenport

I am a marine ecologist focused on habitat restoration in coastal and estuarine ecosystems. My primary research focus is on the design and siting of habitat restoration to benefit fishes and crustaceans.

My current projects examine relationships between estuarine organisms and structured habitat (e.g., emergent vegetation, oysters, and submerged aquatic vegetation) at multiple spatial scales. I apply tools from spatial analysis, field observation and manipulation, habitat suitability modeling, synthesis of big data sets, and machine learning. My goal is to provide practical, user-driven conservation and restoration science that informs decision-making and promote sustainable relationships between the environment and society.
