Environmental Education Center

With its environmental education facilities located on the banks of the Choptank River on the Eastern Shore, the Horn Point campus is designed for scientific exploration and understanding of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.
The buildings are charming and inviting in their rustic and camp-like design. The main building includes a fully operational commercial kitchen, dining hall, wet lab, nature museum, and handicap accessible bathrooms with showers. A canoe and kayak shed provides equipment to access Lakes Cove for water activities. There are several walking trails near the Environmental Education Center.
Horn Point Lab currently has limited environmental education programming, but the campus is available for lease to providers of environmental education programs for students and teachers.
Two dorms each sleep 36. The dorms are available for three seasons, but are not recommended for use in December, January and February due to limited heating. See below to get a closer look at our facilities.
