Andrew Benson

Andrew Benson joined UMCES in January 2025 as Director of Communications and Marketing. Before joining the university, Benson was Senior Manager of Digital Communications for the National Park Foundation (NPF) and Communications and Outreach Officer for the Student Press Law Center.

Benson started his career with The Nature Conservancy serving in various roles on global, regional and state teams – from Global Social Media Intern to Connecticut’s Director of Marketing and Communications.

Outside work, you’ll usually find Benson with a film camera shooting outdoor scenes and streetscapes, gardening, or exploring Washington, DC’s local history. He’s also an avid sports fan; go Chiefs, Wizards, Royals, and Nationals!
