UMCES science spans the spectrum of water systems—from mountain streams to the Chesapeake Bay to the deep ocean, and from the tropics to the polar seas. This research focuses on the physical, chemical, and biological processes of aquatic environments, and the ecologically and economically important organisms that inhabit these environments.
