As an undergraduate student at Lafayette College (Easton, PA), I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a marine ecology research project on the Hudson-Raritan Estuary. My undergraduate experience, inspired me to pursue graduate education in marine science. As a graduate student in the Glibert Lab, I am interested in exploring how various environmental factors influence phytoplankton community diversity in aquatic ecosystems. Understanding how shifts in the surrounding environment impact the composition of phytoplankton communities is extremely important, as phytoplankton comprise the base of an aquatic food web.
